Take a look at some cool photos from past Inter-Tribal Tobacco Prevention Youth Summits and get ready for this year's gathering!

The Inter-Tribal Tobacco Prevention Youth Summit is an annual event hosted by the Southern California Tribal Tobacco Coalition (SCTTC), a community partnership of four tobacco prevention programs. Their mission is to reduce American Indian and Alaska Native (AIAN) youth commercial tobacco use through activities led by youth and elders, fostering community involvement and honoring AIAN traditions.

At these Summits, youth learn about the dangers of commercial tobacco and the cultural significance of traditional tobacco. They also explore environmental and cultural stewardship, fostering connections to their heritage and the land they live on. Programming is mainly created and presented by youth themselves, encouraging them to lead and make a positive difference in their communities.

Youth are provided lunch, t-shirts, backpacks, and giveaways for free. These serve as tokens of gratitude for their involvement and willingness to learn. The SCTTC welcomes youth aged 8-18 and hopes to keep this annual tradition alive for many years to come.
